External Description:

This role is the frontend customer & brokers liaison for commercial & consumer collection matters. The primary purpose of this role is to manage the collection of debtors, ensuring a proactive and timely collection of outstanding amounts. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day collections to reduce delinquency through effective communication, negotiation skills and decision-making.

 

Roles and responsibilities

Managing Delinquent accounts

  • Managing a large number of outbound or inbound calls efficiently and effectively.
  • Build and establish relationships with customers and brokers with rapport and trust
  • Speaking to early-stage customers for collection purposes and negotiate payment of outstanding debt.
  • Send appropriate Emails and SMS to customers.
  • Managing customer and Broker enquires via email and delivering exceptional service
  • Detailed and accurate file action notes for all customer interactions and adding Checklist where required.
  • Moving each account through a workflow to ensure high-quality and consistent actions are taken
  • Bringing priority matters to the attention of the Team Leader for action/advice as appropriate

Ledger Management

  • Managing your portfolio effectively to achieve maximum results
  • Take ownership of the ledger and prioritize your daily task by time management
  • Work autonomously and handle work with accountability

 

How to succeed

A passion for customer interactions and ability to build and nurture professional relationships will ensure success in the role. 

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in banking, finance, commerce, economics, law or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in collections environment within either a commercial bank or finance company
  • Experience in an asset-backed collections environment is highly desirable 

  • Knowledge of collection procedures is essential
  • Sound understanding of current legislative requirements, Corporations Act, NCCP, PPSA, AML & CTF and Privacy Act
  • Must have Australian working rights (citizen or PR)
